ITINERARY
We will pick you up at your hotel and head to Bellavista Nanay Port, where you can discover some of the region’s popular Amazonian cuisine. We will then board our boat and, depending on the community you choose, navigate toward the Yaguas along the Amazon River, or the Boras and Kukamas along the Momón River, enjoying the surrounding rainforest landscapes along the way.
Upon arrival, we will visit the community’s traditional maloca, a gathering space where visitors are welcomed through traditional dances, cultural presentations and handicraft displays. We will then leave the usual visitor route and walk deeper into the village to experience its organization, customs and daily life. Our guide will share insights into their traditions, authorities, history and traditional ways of subsistence.
During the walk, we will explore places commonly used by community members and learn how they interact with their surroundings and the resources of the rainforest. As part of the experience, we will visit a local home to enjoy a traditional lunch prepared in advance. Afterwards, we will continue exploring the village, learning more about its stories, cultural practices and the role of its people in preserving their traditions.
At the end of the visit, we will return to our boat and begin our journey back to Iquitos. Along the way, you can once again enjoy the landscapes of the Amazon while reflecting on an authentic encounter with the culture and daily life of a local community. The excursion will conclude at our central office.
